3 Easy Gift Ideas for Your Local Staff Holiday Party

Written by: Jenni Liu, Sales & Events Coordinator

Whether your company has 5 or 500 employees, odds are you’re doing something special for your team around the holidays. A staff Christmas party is a great way to say mahalo to your employees and recognize their hard work throughout the year, and it’s also an opportunity to give them a tangible show of your appreciation. If you’re still searching for gift ideas, read on!

1. Beach Day Accessories

Portable Speaker - Portable speakers are perfect for bringing the party to the beach, or just enjoying some relaxing music. Ranging from small and subtle to big and booming, there are many affordable options out there. Bonus points if it’s waterproof and shockproof!

Insulated Tumblers and Bottles - Whether you are passionate about being eco-friendly or just want to keep your drinks cold, an insulated water bottle or cup is sure to please anybody! Great for the beach, home, work, or on the go, and available in a variety of styles, you really can’t have too many of these lying around.

Cooler Bags or Backpacks - Keeping food and drinks cold at the beach is always a concern, so why not gift your employees a cooler? Soft cooler bags and backpacks are easy to transport, with many still being roomy enough to store poke and drinks and keep people fed all day.

Also keep in mind any of these items could be branded with your company logo to make it even more fun!

2. Techy Toys

Whether you are Team iPhone or Team Android, we can all agree that people are pretty much attached to their devices these days, so a techy gift is totally something your employees would appreciate and use.

Bluetooth Headphones/Earbuds - Great for working out, zoning out, or just walking down the street, you can’t go wrong with wireless headphones. There are a variety of brands that are compatible with any phone, and in a comfortable range of prices. Maybe you can even email your staff some motivational audiobooks to listen to!

Charger Packs - We’ve probably all heard or uttered these words before: “I’m dying!” No, not of hunger, boredom, or heat: we’re talking about our batteries. What good is having all this cool tech if none of it is charged? Give the gift of life with a charger pack and ensure that your employees can enjoy uninterrupted tech time.

Tile Tracker - So you’ve charged your phone and packed your speaker, and now you’re ready to head out to the beach, only to realize that you can’t find your keys! Great, a whole day is ruined! But it doesn’t have to be: that’s where Tile comes in. Tile is a device that can attach to your key rings, stick to your phone, and anything else that you may be in danger of misplacing. You can track the missing item via bluetooth and go on with your day!

3. Gift Cards

Trust us when we say that people love gift cards. While they may seem a little impersonal for, say, a birthday, gift cards are great to gift to your employees! Again, you’re encouraging them to take some time for themselves and do something fun.

Experiences and Excursions - We have no shortage of amazing experiences to enjoy around our islands and have enough variety to please anyone. Are your employees on the adventurous side? Why not give a gift card to Kualoa Ranch, where they can ramble around on ATVs, or fund a skydiving experience? For something more cruise, consider a gift card for a relaxing catamaran sail. And for those employees with kids (or those that are young at heart), why not enable them to enjoy a day at Sea Life Park, Honolulu Zoo, Wet’n’Wild, iTrampoline, or bowling? When it comes to fun activities in Hawaii, the sky and sea’s the limit!

Restaurants and Bars - Whether it’s an intimate date with their loved one, a family night out, or a couple of hours to blow off steam at the favorite neighborhood watering hole, a gift card to a restaurant or bar is sure to please anyone. And if you are in the industry yourself, or if your company has goods and services that you can offer gift cards for, then consider reaching out for an equal-value trade, for a true win-win situation.

So there you have it! If you truly care about your employees and put thought into their “Mahalo For All Your Hard Work” gifts, you really can’t go wrong. Your employees are sure to see your gratitude shine through, making them feel appreciated and accomplished. Here’s to a happy holiday season filled with joy and aloha! Stay tuned for more planning tips!
